rose cut

Rose cut diamonds get their name from there facets resembling petals of a rose bud unfolding. The most notable features of a rose cut diamond are their flat back and domed top covered in triangular facets. Rose cut diamonds appear to be a visually larger stones when viewed from above compared to a full cut diamond of the same carat weight. It will have a larger surface area since none of its carat weight is below the girdle due to its flat back. Rose cut diamonds do not have the same light return you see in a brilliant cut diamond, but yield a softer sparkle and flash as they catch the light.
